ITTY BITTY! Dont’ forget to bring enough diapers!!

It’s never too early for a photo session. Lately I have been photographing many newborns. I often hear that people think that photos of newborns can’t be artistic… I think that couldn’t be farther from the truth! People have the image of that hospital newborn shot in their minds. I have had clients bring their newborns in as early as one week old. A few weeks ago I did this photo session of Will (3 weeks old) with his proud sister Mia and mom Megan. Hope you enjoy this slide show. Moms wanted me to remind other mom’s to be sure and bring enough diapers for the session. Will went through 6 diapers during his photo session!

Kids at heart!

You usually hear me talking about photographing babies or kids that are not old enough to talk back to me. This week I had the honor of photographing some amazing grown up dancers! I don’t just photograph kids… but kids at heart sometimes! This session was for my client and neighbor Kristen Ramirez owner of Baby Take A Bow (Website). Baby Take a Bow classes include traditional ballet classes but also offer hip-hop classes for kids who like to get funky! Kristen needed photos of her instructors and staff – here are just a few of the photos from the session and some behind the scenes. I had fun getting in front of the camera!

We just got back from our annual photography convention in Las Vegas last week and have so many new creative ideas to photography BABIES UNDER 2 MONTHS OLD! These sessions will be taking place before March 9th and on weekdays only. You will also receive an 8×10 as a thank you for volunteering. Babies can be anywhere from 1 week to 8 weeks old. Common Threads Camp- Teaching kids to prepare wholesome meals!

Common Threads is an incredible non-profit organization that educates children about nutrition, physical well-being and cultural diversity through cooking. I’m excited to volunteer my time for them. I highly recommend that you get involved!

Summer sessions are off to an amazing start! While I love photographing children and families in the studio, it is so much fun to get outside and do something a little different. I have been photographing all over Chicago – The beach, the zoo, the park – all amazing locations to shoot in.

Escape To Nature!

Since my hobby of photographing children has turned into my profession, my new hobby and form of relaxation is photographing nature. These photos were all taken last week at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe – one of the most beautiful, tranquil and relaxing places in the world. Enjoy!

I had the privilege and honor of a lifetime to photograph and meet Princess Diana in 1987 when I was a student at the University of London. She was incredibly friendly and was so radiant and I’m reminded of this magical day 24 years ago as her son is getting married.
Princess Diana’s strongly supported the fight against HIV/AIDS. When she died in 1997 I donated 2 of my favorite photos to Chicago House which provides services for families living with HIV/AIDS. Each of these photos was sold for $1000.

I’m so excited about my new product –

Over the last 15 years, I have had many unique sessions with each of my clients. Now I am incorporating all of these amazing photos from multiple sessions taken over the years into a handcrafted, custom designed album – perfect for a coffee table.

Below is an album that Kelly designed for Karmen (a long-time client of mine) of her family from multiple sessions from 2003-2011. She just picked up the album and absolutely loved it! These also make great gifts and are perfect for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day!
